CrystaHeadshot1_50Hi! I’m Crysta Vesely (née Anderson), an experienced writer, editor, and digital content strategist. For more than 15 years, I’ve worked with executives, customer researchers, analysts, designers, and product managers across organizations ranging from tiny nonprofits and startups to the Fortune 100.

After years in the corporate world, I launched Vesely Creative. I work primarily with B2B, technology, and healthcare clients — but the goal is always the same: creating good content that will resonate by meeting your audience’s needs.

That’s why I start every project by digging into your audience. Who are they (really)? What do they need? Why should they care about your product? From there, I craft messages that will resonate, tailoring content for all the right platforms.

My past includes developing ecommerce content and strategy for motorola.com,  launching IBM’s Big Data & Analytics Hub, creating brand messaging and identities, and herding executive cats into a cohesive content strategy.

I completed my Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications through Northwestern University’s Medill School, where I studied everything from consumer insights and customer loyalty to statistics, law, and finance. Through the program, I studied international marketing in Seoul, Shanghai, and Tapei. Back in Chicago, I consulted for clients who sold pizzas and trampoline club memberships.

But enough about work. What about me?

I’m your quintessential word nerd, always reading and writing. I’ve lived in or around Chicago most of my life and earned a BA (in political science, of all things) at the University of Chicago. I travel, lift heavy things a few days a week, play in the kitchen, and try to will plants to grow in my neglected garden. I’m outside as much as our Chicago weather allows.
